At the end of a lane in a quiet river valley lies Old Newham Farm where you can be assured of a peaceful relaxing break. Completely rural and a haven to all types of wildlife. Our three characterful cottages will offer a comfortable base while you explore the many delights of this laid back area of North Cornwall which includes such charming villages as Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Issac, Bodmin Moor and the delightful seaside town of Bude.
Set three miles back from some of the most impressive coastal scenery in the West Country and Coastal Path. Crackington Haven, Widemouth Bay and several other beaches are within easy reach. There are excellent first class restaurants, public houses and tea shops in the area.
We keep a small suckler herd of the areas native Red Ruby cattle on our organic farm which dates back to mediaeval times and is bounded by the river Ottery. There is nothing intensive in our farm management. We are guided by due regard for the well-being of our livestock, the wildlife, the centuries old layout of the fields and hedges and the general environment. We keep to as much of the time-honoured ways as pratical.
There are two, two bedroom cottages for four people and a one bedroom cottage just for two. They are all three quite different in character and style.
Both the two larger cottages have double and twin bedrooms.
‘Stables’, a centuries old two storied stone barn features a four-poster bed and two en-suite bathrooms, the lounge has a massive granite inglenook.
‘Nutmegs’ is split level and has an impressive lounge with galleried landing and a working wood burner stove and has its own enclosed garden.
The smaller cottage ‘Skyber’ is all on one level with double bedroom, level entry shower room and its own private garden.
All three cottages have central heating and free Wi-Fi.
